O blog Vulture conseguiu descobrir mais informações sobre Cobal Neutral 9, o misterioso novo filme dos irmãos Wachowski (Matrix, Speed Racer). O polêmico projeto será um drama de guerra futurista sobre um romance entre um soldado americano e um iraquiano.
De acordo com o blog, a história começa no futuro, daqui um século, mas é contada através de flashbacks, com material filmado no estilo documental, depois que arqueólogos encontram câmeras antigas da CNN, na época da ocupação do Iraque pelos EUA.
O personagem principal é Butch, um jovem e bonito fuzileiro gay do exército dos EUA, que só pensa em matar tudo que encontra pela frente. Durante seu tempo no Iraque, ele se apaixona por um iraquiano, aproxima-se da família do seu novo amor e com isso traz uma grande tragédia para a vida deles. A única solução encontrada pelo casal é assassinar o presidente George W. Bush. O artigo termina dizendo que nenhum grande estúdio aceitaria produzir o filme.
Esse não será o primeiro filme dos irmãos Wachowski sobre o mundo LGBT. O longa de estreia deles foi Ligadas Pelo Desejo (1996) sobre o relacionamento entre uma mulher de gângster e uma ex-presidiária.

According to the blog, the story begins in the future, a century, but is told through flashbacks, with material shot in documentary style, after archaeologists find old cameras of CNN at the time of the occupation of Iraq.
The main character is Butch, a handsome young gay U.S. Marine Army, who only thinks of killing everything in its path. During his time in Iraq, he falls in love with an Iraqi close to the family of his new love and it brings great tragedy to their lives. The only solution is for the couple to assassinate President George W. Bush. The article ends by saying that no major studio would agree to produce the film.
This is not the first movie of the Wachowski brothers on the LGBT world. The feature debut of them was Bound (1996) on the relationship between a gangster and an ex-prisoner woman.
