Quem fez as afirmações foi Desmond Child, produtor que vem trabalhando com o porto-riquenho.Em entrevista ao BlackBook, Child disse que Ricky Martin teve uma noção melhor do quanto pode cantar, dizer e fazer desde que resolveu assumir publicamente a homossexualidade. O produtor não poupa elogios ao cantor, a quem chama de "pessoa formidável, um ativista, filantropo, humanitário".
"Desde que ele abriu essa porta, uma enxurrada de criatividade e energia realmente explodiu", conta. Child cita ainda a paternidade como fator de mudança na maneira como o cantor enxerga o mundo.
Ainda de acordo com o produtor, o novo álbum de Martin será algo totalmente diferente do que já vimos. Será uma fusão de rock, pop, música eletrônica e latina.

Singer Ricky Martin has become more creative since his decision to come out as gay earlier this year according to his song writing partner. The Latino singer revealed he was gay in March ending years of speculation about his sexuality. Martin had previously avoided discussing the subject but that didn't stop the speculation but in March he confirmed he was gay. Now Desmond Child, his writing partner, has said the coming out has made Martin more creative.
"Once he opened that door a floodgate of energy and creativity just really exploded. I'm really excited about the music, the content, because since he's come out its unleashed his creativity and the scope of what he can sing about and say and do." - Desmond Child quoted on Pink News
Child revealed that the singers next album would be a fusion of 'rock, pop, electronic and latin music.
